Hey guys,
Along with the previous one, read this article.
http://sandpaper.bitsaa.org/campus/ragging.htm
This is precisely what I feel about the so called ragging in BITS. I am so upset about the present ragging scenario in BITS, that I have already talked to the VC regarding it. I will like to know ur views on it. So, plzzz comment.
Jai Gurudev!
Cheers,
Harshad

At Ram and Sita’s lovely home in Jakarta, we were treated to a totally
delicious breakfast which turned out to be super simple to make. Soak a few
tables...

What do you mean by present state of ragging? I dont think there was much this year... so do u mean there shd be some 'intearction' with juniors and hence a mild form of ragging? I don't think ragging is necessary whatsoever...just an egoistic satisfaction for 'seniors'!
Yes, I mean that the mild form of ragging which BITS had, SHOULD be there. Its not about ego yaar, its about interaction between the two! The court banned "ragging" but BITS banned "interaction". Ragging was anyways never present in BITS.
hmmm... dunno i managed interaction without "interaction" ... :P. Most people bully around so my prejudice is against it. every1's not as sportive as you are :)
i vehemently feel that BITS is overdoing it....i was cornered for asking a junior his name....my wingy was almost penalised coz his book son was in his room taking books...the first year had to save his butt..telling our warden that he had come of his own choice....under the garb of "patrolling", the wardens seem to siphon off their frustration into us....basically, the first years strut around thinking they own the place...and the wardens "patrol" only to reassure them that they indeed DO own the place...i feel soooo strongly coz i live in a twing last room ..next to the H wing...and the HUGE ruckus that the first yearites make, prompts me to give them piece of my mind...but alas..i am not SUPPOSED to...as the cheeky gits chose to make all the noise around the same time as the warden patrols..and i know i would be under disciplinary action faster than i could say "unfair", if i were caught...good going harshad bhaiyya....take it up with the VC and lets hope good sense prevails in BITS
Actually, what I said to the VC was almost same as in the article. I even gave him an example that the present 3rd year and 4th year batches are far more attached as compared to the junior batches (especially when it comes to regional assocs). This fact was also supported by the 3rd year batch present there.
The junior batches do not know the importance and usefulness of their seniors. They are not taught to go to their seniors for advise and discussions; rather are mostly discouraged. This will result in a communication gap between the batches and its effect will be clearly seen in all the events and festivals of BITS and also in the academic know-how of the BITSians. I fear that this time is not far with two so called "non ragged" batches already in place!
yeah!..so when is the vc gonna let us rag the li'l ones>?:P
